Esta noche se llevó a cabo la 96ª edición de los Premios Oscar, en los que el filme ganador de la noche fue Oppenheimer.
La ceremonia inicio con un pequeño sketch del host de la gala, Jimmy Kimmel, quien conduce por cuarta vez en la historia del evento, seguido de la primera entrega que fue para Mejor Actriz de reparto donde ganó Da’Vine Joy Randolph por su actuación en The Holdovers
